Wies was one of the inspiring speakers at the 42nd edition of PechaKucha Rotterdam. On 20-02-2020 she presented the story of Waterweg with 20 slides of 20 seconds. CityLab010 grant awarded

On Monday 2 December we heard that we will receive a starting budget from Citylab010 (Municipality of Rotterdam) of no less than € 86,525. With this, we will be able to start tiling the whole of Rotterdam with waterpassing tiles and that with Rotterdam dredging. According to the city jury a 'particularly innovative' plan. We will start immediately on this project so you will hear more soon.

Opening of the first dredging street
Together with: Waterschap Delfland, Unie van Waterschappen & The Green Village
A milestone for Waterweg: we have completed our first street made from dredged sediments! We look back on a very successful pilot in collaboration with the Delfland. In the coming period, we will be monitoring the tiles and working on improving the tiles and scaling up the production process. Philips Innovation Awards final

After an exciting preliminary round with pitches from 29 startups, Waterweg was honored to pitch at the final of the Philips Innovation Awards as a participant in the Rough Diamond League. Eva pitched in Theater Rotterdam in front of a room with almost 800 spectators! Unfortunately, we didn't win the Rough Diamond League, but what a cool experience it was, with many new insights and contacts. You can find the after movie of the final here.

Philips Innovation Awards semi-finals

We were invited from more than 100 entries to participate in the semi-finals of the Philips Innovation Awards. Here we were on the innovation market together with 29 other start-ups and Simon pitched our innovative idea as a participant in the Rough Diamond League. The jury, consisting of managers with an entrepreneurial spirit, chose, among other things, Waterweg to pitch at the final in the Theater Rotterdam on 6 May. Would you like to come and see it? 2018

Second prize Circular Innovation Challenge
Together with: Unie van Waterschappen & Kirkmann Company
During the finals of the Circular Innovation Challenge, we pitch our climate-adaptive water-permeable tile made from dredging material. That was well-received, so that we are going home with a prize of 25,000 euros. This means that we came second within our challenge "A high-quality application of biomass flows"! Now it is up to us to enter into a partnership with one of the participating water boards to invest the prize in a pilot. To be continued ..

Selected for Circular Innovation Challenge
Together with: Unie van Waterschappen & Kirkmann Company
From 17 September we are a participant in the Circular Innovation Challenge organized by the Union of Water Boards. From no fewer than 43 participants, we and 5 others were chosen as participants of the incubation process. This program focuses on business and product development and is supervised by the consultancy firm Kirkmann Company. We also have a chance of winning investment at the end of this challenge. Winner BlueCity Circular Challenge
Together with: Hoogheemraadschap Delfland & BlueCity
On June 22, we won the BlueCity Circular Challenge. During this challenge, the Delfland Water Board offered us the residual flow of dredged material to come up with a high-quality application. During the final of the BlueCity Circular Challenge, Wies pitched our idea for making a leveling tile. Read more about our victory here.
